Meet Tabea - Import department Team Manager
Could you tell us about your Lidl journey so far?
I started at Lidl in Jan 2011 as an Administrator in Food Specials, I worked in different departments within buying (Buying Admin, Export).
In 2019 I was asked to support in creating a new department (Customs & Import Team), This developed developing new processes from scratch for the Brexit Project as part of the Customs & Import team.
Currently I am working in Imports as a Team Manager and managing import master data and operational team.
What do you most enjoy about your role?
Import is an ever-changing environment, and no day is ever the same this means, I’m faced with a new challenge which keeps me motivated. As it is a relative new department, I’m able to support and improve various processes to ensure a lean and efficient process flow.
I have amazing colleagues / team which makes work environment fun and enjoyable
What's your team dynamic like?
I have an amazing team which are facing ever changing processes and are committed and supportive of each other and work together to solve these challenges.
The team is very cross-cultural coming from various different parts around the world, which allows them to help each other on a day to day with international queries.
Which has allowed them to build meaningful relationships with each other and the team are fun to work with.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Biggest challenge so far for me was the Brexit Project, which I supported in creating the department and processes from scratch including very short deadlines and no proper guidance with regards to the new regulations from the relevant authorities
What's your fondest memory of working at Lidl?
Opportunities to travel to various countries, learn and support on different projects/ processes with international colleagues.
What advice would you give to anyone applying for a role at Lidl?
Be ready to be challenged and never be too shy to bring your ideas forward.
