No two people are the same, so no two training plans should be either. Wherever you start your career with us, you'll have a unique training programme that offers all the skills and knowledge you need to hit the ground running. Starting with a Welcome Event, you’ll learn about our business and what it’s like to work at Lidl, before moving onto complete a range of digital, on the job and classroom courses that help you understand the basics of your new role, all under the watchful eye and support of your Line Manager. 

Adjusting to a new role can be tricky, so your dedicated Training Mentor will be on hand with day-to-day support, guidance and help kickstart your Lidl career. As brand ambassadors, our Training Mentors also complete regular training themselves, honing their skills and keeping them up to date with new concepts or initiatives that could affect your role. 

Learning, growing and developing into the best version of ourselves is a constant part of life. That’s why we created our Development Catalogue, filled with helpful videos, podcasts, books and courses that will help you develop a specific skill or target your next career move. For targeted development from your Line Manager, our Talent Management cycle takes place once a year to give you a specific development pathway and bespoke measures that will help you achieve your individual goals. We can also help with professional and externally-recognised qualifications too, from Apprenticeships in different roles to financially assisted job-related specialist courses and degrees.

Our global community means we can share experiences and support you if your career leads you to a new location. We offer international assignment and development programmes in a number of positions and can help if you would like to make a permanent transfer to another Lidl country.
