Lidl support page

We’re here to support you on your journey into Lidl GB. We know interviews can feel a little daunting, so here are some tips to help you navigate our recruitment process with confidence.

Our application process

Step 1

Click Apply Now!

You’ll need an up-to-date CV to create your candidate Profile  - unfortunately we cannot accept CV’s via email due to data protection regulations.

You’ll answer mandatory questions and there will be an optional equal opportunities survey.

You’ll then confirm your eligibility to work in the UK.

Step 2

Do you need to do an online test?

Some of our roles do require an online test.

Our Talent Acquisition team will be able to advise if this applies.

Step 3

Who views your application?

Our Talent Acquisition team reviews applications within 7-14 days (please wait the full 2 weeks before following up with the team).

All applications are assessed based on:

  • Hours (availability vs. role requirements)
  • Experience
  • CV information (accurate dates and details)

Please note - at this stage, unfortunately we are unable to provide individual feedback due to the high volume of applications.

Step 4

Telephone Interview stage

  • If successful at application stage, you’ll be invited to book a telephone interview slot that works for you.
  • This is an opportunity for us to learn more about you and for you to understand the role (Tip: Our “Day in the Life” videos on this page may help you prepare for store or logistics interviews!).
Step 5

Face-to-Face interview stage

  • If successful at telephone interview stage, you’ll be invited for a face-to-face interview. Location, date, time and who you will be meeting will be confirmed via email.
  • This will be held with a Store Manager, Department Manager, or relevant Team Manager, depending on the role you have applied for.
  • You should expect scripted questions and 2 interviewers, who will be taking notes.
  • Duration: 30–90 minutes (your interview may be longer if an assessment is included in your process, we'll inform you advance if this is the case).
Step 6

Outcome & Next Steps

If you're successful:

  • We'll send your contract by email and you'll need to complete personal details before you sign.
  • You’ll also receive your training schedule.
  • One week before your start date,  you'll receive a welcome call from your manager, who will explain what you can expect on your first day.

If you're unsuccessful:

  • You’ll be notified by email if you've been unsuccessful this time. At this point you can request feedback from the team.
Step 7

Welcome to Lidl!

  • You can expect an eligibility check, onboarding checklist, and basic training with a colleague.

Remember, this isn’t just about us getting to know you, it’s also your chance to make sure Lidl is the right fit for you! Feel free to ask us any questions you might have.
