We’re seeking a self-assured and driven Buying Officer to join our team at Motherwell for a 14-month maternity cover. This position is well-suited for an enthusiastic, proactive team member who excels in a dynamic and fast-paced setting, enjoys working under pressure, possesses a keen awareness of quality, and demonstrates a high level of attention to detail.

What you'll do

  • Drafting contracts for the Scottish Buying team  
  • Generating purchasing notifications for Suppliers
  • Securing price confirmations for Suppliers after the end of negotiations
  • Collecting data from Suppliers for the Scottish Buying team and checking for plausibility
  • Setting up and maintaining master data in the Purchasing systems 
  • Implementing basic training for new, international and non-specialist employees
  • Updating and maintaining Training material for all processes within the team
  • Involvement in the optimisation of processes
  • Preparation of weekly reports

What you'll need

  • German speakers preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, able to work well in a team and independently within a high-pressured environment
  • Demonstrates strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks while adhering to targets and stringent deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A high degree of adaptability
  • A confident approach with excellent communication skills
  • Pro-active, approaching problems logically and calmly
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Positive can-do attitude with the willingness to learn
