Over the past year we have spent time listening and learning from our colleagues, gaining valuable feedback on Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) at Lidl GB. Through listening to our colleagues lived experiences, we have developed a vision statement that will guide how we move forward to become a more inclusive company:
As part of our wider Diversity and Inclusion strategy we will be undertaking two key steps to ensure that we move towards a more inclusive culture:
- All colleagues will be invited to take part in a Diversity and Inclusion national survey in October 2021. We want to ensure that we continue to become as inclusive as possible and to do so we need to learn more about our colleagues.
- All colleagues will receive inclusion awareness training.
As part of our commitment to keeping our colleagues up to speed with our progress as a business, a Diversity and Inclusion Resource Hub is also available for colleagues. This gives them access to D&I information, including resources & videos, colleague stories, D&I related reports and a calendar with upcoming diversity awareness days.
At Lidl GB we’re committed to building an inclusive workplace. In order to ensure that we’re accountable every step of the way, we’ve appointed a Board Diversity and Inclusion Sponsor – Matt Heslop. To mark the launch of our new Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Vision, Matt has shared a few words on his role as our D&I Sponsor…

It will take time to develop talent through different departments, but if we are serious about making a change it will happen. Inclusivity and making opportunities available for everyone, as well as listening to different opinions and thoughts can be changed overnight with the correct mindset.”
