We would like to give you the opportunity to conveniently apply internationally to all Lidl companies from one portal. Creating your profile in the Lidl recruitment portal enables us to stay in touch beyond your application and offer you additional services related to ‘Working at Lidl’ and the Lidl Candidate Community. For example, after speaking with us at a career fair, completing an internship or a student placement, you have the opportunity to create an account in the recruitment portal without having to apply for a specific position.

- The data that you make available to us during registration and in the recruitment portal
- Your e-mail address, password, first name, last name, country/region of your place of residence
- CV, where provided
The processing of your profile data takes place on the basis of the user contract for the recruitment portal.

Your candidate profile data can be searched and accessed by all Lidl companies listed under section 3.6. When you visit the recruitment portal, log files are generated with the following content:
- Your IP address
- The path of the page

Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG, Stiftsbergstraße 1, 74172 Neckarsulm, is responsible for the processing of your data within the framework of the recruitment portal/candidate profile.
2.1.1. Creating your candidate profile without an application
If you are interested in a career at Lidl, you can use our Easy Apply functionality to create your candidate profile and apply at the same time. After submitting your application, you will receive an email with further information on how to set-up a password and access your candidate profile in the future. This will allow you to log in to your profile at any time and create, send, or withdraw applications from it. You can also change, add, or delete information in your user profile at any time, view the status of your application(s), submit additional documents or change your data at a later date.
Please note that, depending on your visibility settings, recruiters may be aware of your multiple active applications through your candidate profile.
2.1.2 Consent to potential inclusion in a Lidl Candidate Community Group
If you are interested in other suitable vacancies within Lidl Group companies, you can enhance your chances of joining #teamlidl by making your candidate profile visible either all Lidl Recruiters worldwide or to those within your country of residence. You can set these profile visibility options when you register/apply for a position or under “Data Privacy Settings, Communication and Search Options” in your candidate profile on our recruiting portal.
You can choose from the following options:
- All current and future appropriate positions within the international Lidl Group Company and the potential inclusion in the global Lidl Candidate Community Groups.
- All current and future appropriate position within Lidl in my country of residence and the potential inclusion in Lidl Candidate Community Groups for my country of residence.
- Only the positions I actively apply for.
Based on your consent Lidl recruiters either globally (Option 1) or within your country of residence (Option 2) can access the following details from your candidate profile if your name appears in a portal-wide search result:
- First name
- Last name
- Candidate ID
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Address
- Country of residence
- Selected profile visibility level
- Candidate profile extension (additional fields such as degree or earliest availability)
- Assigned tags (keywords like skills or special knowledge assigned by recruiters)
- Recruiter comments on the candidate profile
- "Application" documents on the profile
- Affiliation to Lidl Candidate Community Groups (only the Lidl Candidate Community accessible to the respective recruiter will be listed for private communities)
- Correspondences and email campaigns sent from the recruiting portal
- Your other Applications to Lidl (see 2.1.4)
Based on your candidate profile information recruiters might contact you and invite you to apply for a position matching your profile. The decision is yours if you would like to apply or not.
Our Recruiters not only look for suitable candidates for current openings via the candidate search, but they also use Lidl Candidate Community Groups to stay connected with different special target groups. For example, they create regional Lidl Candidate Community Groups from second-best candidates for frequently filled positions or specialised roles.
Details on the profile visibility options
By selecting Option 1, “All current and future appropriate positions within International Lidl Group and the potential inclusion in global Lidl Candidate Community Groups” you consent to have your profile visible to all Recruiters from all Lidl national organizations and Regional Distribution Centers as well as Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG. For a complete list of Lidl Companies whose recruiters can access your profile, please refer to https://careers.lidl/overview-companies
The selection of “worldwide consideration/visibility” of your candidate profile always entails that you can be added to any of our worldwide Lidl Candidate Community Groups. Worldwide Lidl Candidate Community means that the recruiters who have access to the Lidl Candidate Community Groups can reside outside of your country of residence. If recruiters with access to your candidate profile consider you a candidate worth keeping track of, they can add you to one or several of our worldwide Lidl Candidate Communities based on your consent.
If you select the Option 2 “All current and future appropriate position within Lidl in my country of residence and the potential inclusion in Lidl Candidate Community groups for my country of residence”, you consent to your profile being visible to all recruiters of the Lidl national organization and the associated Regional Distribution Centers in your country of residence.
By selecting “country of residence consideration/visibility” on your candidate profile allows recruiters in your country of residence to add you to any Lidl Candidate Community. Recruiters from outside your country of residence can neither find your candidate profile via portal-wide searches nor add you to a Lidl Candidate Community.
If you go with Option 3 “Only the positions I actively apply for”, only recruiters in charge of positions for which you actively apply have access to your candidate profile. Your profile cannot be found via portal-wide searches and therefore can neither be added into a Lidl Candidate Community Group nor be considered for other positions matching your profile.
Withdrawal of consent
You can revoke your consent to the worldwide or country of residence visibility/consideration of your profile and for participation in the Lidl Candidate Community Groups at any time. To do so, please change your visibility settings directly in your profile in “Data Privacy Settings, Communication and Search Options”. The legality of the processing that has already taken place up until the receipt of your withdrawal is not affected by this.
Changing the visibility settings has the following effects:
- Worldwide changed to country of residence (1 à 2): Only recruiters within your country of residence can find, access your profile, and consider you for other suitable positions. If you had been part of a Lidl Candidate Community Group to which a recruiter from outside of your country of residence had access, the latter would no longer be able to access your profile data.
- Worldwide or country of residence changed to positions for which I am actively applying (1 or 2 à 3): You can no longer be found through portal-wide searches. If you had been part of a Lidl Candidate Community Group, recruiters would no longer be able to see your name and profile data when calling up the pool. You will not be considered for any additional positions.
Note: If data is transmitted to a Lidl company that is headquartered in non-EU/ non-EEA countries ("third countries"), the data protection level in this third country may be lower compared to that in the EU/ EEA, which may mean that the rights of data subjects may not be enforced at all or not in the same way. If we transfer personal data to data recipients outside the EU/ EEA, the transfer will only take place if an adequate level of data protection in the third country has been confirmed by the EU Commission, an appropriate level of data protection has been agreed with the data recipient (e.g. by means of EU standard contractual clauses) or you have given us your express consent.
2.1.3. Registering for a Lidl Candidate Community Group via data capture forms
When visiting a career fair or after being approached and interviewed by an active sourcer, you have the opportunity to register in the recruiting portal via a data capture form without having to apply for a specific position, but with the aim to be included in a Lidl Candidate Community Group and considered for future vacancies that suit your qualifications.
Your data is automatically used to create a candidate profile in the background. This includes all functionalities mentioned in section 2.1.1. In this context, we would like to give you the opportunity to be taken into account for suitable positions in all Lidl Companies Worldwide. This is why your candidate profile is automatically visible worldwide by default when you register for a Lidl Candidate Community via a data capture form. You can change this setting in your profile to limit visibility/consideration to your own country and will receive further information in an email following your registration. Find more information on visibility settings in section 2.1.2.
Withdrawal of consent
You can revoke your consent to participate into the Lidl Candidate Community Groups via Data Capture Forms at any time with immediate effect in the future. To do so, please change your visibility settings directly into your profile under “Data Privacy Settings, Communication and Search Options”. The legality of the processing conducted prior to the receipt of your withdrawal remains unaffected. For more information on the different visibility options and their effects, see section 2.1.2.
2.1.4 Submission of applicants via an agency
If an agency submits your “pre- application” (first and last name, e-mail address, country/region code, phone number, country/region and CV) for an open position with us, you will be notified about this via e-mail. If the recruiter in charge of the position wants to proceed with your application, you will be invited to apply and will provided with additional job-specific information. In case you do not apply within 30 days after the agency has submitted your “pre- application”, your “pre- application” will be deleted.
2.1.5 Multiple applications
If you apply for multiple jobs with Lidl companies the recruiters in charge will have access to the following information from your other applications within the limits set by your selected visibility option: date of the application, position title, status of the application, recruiter’s first and last name.
If you select “Only the positions I actively apply for” (Option 3), recruiters in charge of other positions, you have applied for will be informed about the fact that your application to their role is not your only application with Lidl, but they will not see any details regarding your other applications.
If you select "All current and future appropriate position within Lidl in my country of residence and the potential inclusion in Lidl Candidate Community groups for my country of residence " (Option 2) and you have applied to several jobs within your country of residence, then the information as listed above on these other applications will be available to the recruiters in charge of filling the other positions. They will also have access to the aforementioned information on applications you submitted to Lidl companies outside of your country of residence. However, recruiters in charge of filling positions outside of your country of residence to which you have applied, will only see that the application to their role is not your only application with Lidl – they will not see any details regarding other applications.
If you select "All current and future appropriate positions within International Lidl Group and the potential inclusion in Lidl Candidate Community Groups " (Option 1) all recruiters in charge of positions you have applied for will have access to the information as listed above from any of your other applications with any Lidl company.
2.1.6 E-Mail Sign-up
Where you have provided your explicit consent within your application, registration or candidate profile to receive emails from our Recruitment Team, you can be expect to receive mailings regarding job opportunities, news from Lidl or invitations to Recruitment Events.
Withdrawal of consent
If you no longer want to receive these mailings, you can withdraw your consent to them in your candidate profile by unchecking the box in “Data Privacy Settings, Communication and Search Options”. The legality of the data processing that has already taken place up until the receipt of your withdrawal is not affected by this.
Please note that consenting to receiving e-mail campaigns has no impact on the consideration of your profile for other job opportunities/the potential inclusion in a Lidl Candidate Community Group.
Withdrawal of consent
Your consent is voluntary. You may revoke your consent at any time, with future effect by adjusting your profile visibility settings in your candidate profile under “Data Privacy Settings, Communication and Search Options”. The effects are outlined under section 2.1.2. The legality of the data processing conducted prior to the receipt of your withdrawal remains unaffected.
Please note that if you withdraw your consent, the following setting will automatically apply: “Only the positions I actively apply for”. This means that only the recruiters and, if applicable, the managers responsible for the respective positions for which you have an active application can view your job-related data within the application. In addition, the withdrawal also means that your data will no longer be visible to recruiter in any Lidl Candidate Community Group if they have been included in one – including registration in a Lidl Candidate Community Group via a data capture form.
-
2.2 Purposes and legal basis
When creating a candidate profile in our recruitment portal via an application, and in active applications we will process your data in order to offer you additional services of your choice. This is done on the basis of the user contract accepted by you.
When registering for a Lidl Candidate Community, the data you provide to us through your candidate profile is processed based on your Consent.
If you opt for the visibility options worldwide (1) or country of residence (2) and the potential inclusion in a Lidl Candidate Community Group your data is also processed on the basis of Consent.
If you have given us your express consent to send you campaign e-mails in your application/registration/candidate profile, the legal basis for this is your Consent.
To make the application process as pleasant as possible for you, our recruiters see multiple applications within the limits detailed out in 2.1.5. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest to adapt the (pre)selection process and spare you answering the same questions multiple times.
-
2.3 Is your personal data transferred outside of the UK?
If we transfer your personal data to recipients outside the UK this will only take place where it can be adequately protected and where an appropriate level of data protection has been agreed with the data recipient under contract. You may in certain circumstances be asked for your consent to transfer data outside of the UK.

During your employment we may be made aware directly from you or from a third party such as government or law enforcement agencies about information pertaining to a criminal offence or conviction. This information may already be publicly available. Documentation, which may contain personal data provided by you during the interview process will also be recorded.
-
3.2 Purposes and legal basis - Why do we process your personal data?
of carrying out the application process and for the decision about establishing an employment relationship and therefore entering into a contract with you.
The transfer of your application data to external service providers who support our application process in individual cases will only take place after careful selection and contractual obligation. External IT and consulting service providers as well as companies of the Schwarz Group support us in the provision of the system and may receive access to your data in individual cases as part of the service provision. These are the following service providers:
- Aon Assessment Solutions: for the completion of assessments such as online tests and video interviews.
- Netigate for collating anonymous candidate feedback.
- SAP Deutschland SE & Co. KG
- SIT Schwarz IT
- Mmmake GmbH
With the help of anonymous statistical data from the application processes (e.g. processing times of applications, etc.), the Lidl company advertising the job draws conclusions on the effectiveness of the application process independently of you as a data subject and improves the application process based on these findings. Along with your final feedback regarding your application, you will also receive a link to an optional and anonymous candidate survey so you can share your experience on the recruiting process with us. The legal basis for this data processing is based on our legitimate interests to, analyse, optimise and simplify the application process.
In order to conclude employment contracts, we may use the electronic signature (Adobe Sign) with the help of the service provider Adobe Software Ireland Limited on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing an efficient contract signing process.

3.3 Where do we get your personal data from?
Personal data is provided by you, the applicant directly or by an agency on behalf of the applicant. In the case of submissions by agencies, the agency must get the express permission of the candidate and all data is handled in the same way as if it was submitted by the candidate themselves.
Employees recommend employees - What happens to your data and the data of the recommending employee?
If your application is recommended as part of Lidl’s Employee Recommendation Program (Referral Scheme), we process your first and last name, the first and last name of the referring employee and, if applicable, the future personnel number, the position and your start date in order to process the referral bonus for the referring employee. We process this data to fulfill our contract with the referring employee.
-
3.4 Is your personal data transferred outside of the UK?
If we transfer your personal data to recipients outside the UK this will only take place where it can be adequately protected and where an appropriate level of data protection has been agreed with the data recipient under contract. You may in certain circumstances be asked for your consent to transfer data outside of the UK.
Multiple applications: If you apply for multiple jobs with Lidl companies the recruitment colleagues will have access to the following information from your other applications within the limits set by your selected visibility option: date of the application, position title, status of the application, recruiter’s first and last name.
If you select "Only the positions I actively apply for" recruiters in charge of other positions you have applied for will be informed about the fact that your application to their role is not your only application with Lidl but they will not see any details regarding your other applications.
If you select "All current and future appropriate positions within Lidl in my country of residence and the potential inclusion in the Lidl's Candidate Community Groups in my country of residence" and you have applied to several jobs within your country of residence, then the information as listed above on these other applications will be available to the recruiters in charge of filling the other positions. They will also have access to the aforementioned information on applications you submitted to Lidl companies outside of your country of residence. However, recruiters in charge of filling positions outside of your country of residence to which you have applied will only see that the application to their role is not your only application with Lidl – they will not see any details regarding other applications.
If you select "All current and future appropriate positions within the international Lidl Group, and the potential inclusion in the global Lidl Candidate Community Groups"all recruiters in charge of positions you have applied for will have access to the information as listed above from any of your other applications with any Lidl company.
