What to expect before you join us

Your first day is near, we hope you’re excited! Before you get started, here are the steps you can expect to go through in preparation for the big day.

SM & CA

Congratulations! You have been offered a role with Lidl

Your new line manager, or a member of the Recruitment Team, will have already called you to let you know about the offer and a start date will have been agreed.

CA & DSM

Your contract

Next, you will read and sign your contract. Your line manager will be available to answer any questions you have about the contract, and will order your uniform for your first day and explain how the rota works.

Call with your new line manager

Your line manager will give you a Welcome Call before you join Lidl. This is a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you have so that you have everything you need for your new career at Lidl. On this call your line manager will make sure you know your rota for your first week, and they will also tell you who your Training Mentor will be. This is a person within the store who will guide you through your training plan to make your first few months at Lidl go smoothly.

Learning about Lidl

After this, you should expect an email which includes the details for your first day at Lidl. Your first day will involve a session where you learn more information about life at Lidl and what your first few weeks will look like. This session could take place in your new store, or the Regional Distribution Centre - check the email for all the details!

This is it! Your first day in your new store. We are excited to welcome you to the team! Your training mentor will be on hand to guide you through your e-learning and practical training, you'll be an expert in no time!
