Your first day

Welcome to Lidl GB!

Your first day will be attending a Welcome Event at Lidl House. This is a great opportunity for you to meet other assignees who are also on their first day of joining Lidl GB.

The Welcome Event, led by the Global Mobility team, will give you all the information that you need before starting your role. The day will provide you with information about the culture of Lidl, how we work in Head Office, and will answer any questions you have about your journey with us.

How to prepare for your welcome event

•   Read the email invitation carefully, especially the instructions around how to get to Lidl House
•   The welcome event dress code is smart casual – wear something you feel comfortable in
•   It’s important you bring with you your passport and boarding card – this will be checked by the Global Mobility team

Assignee Support Network

We are dedicated to making sure that our international assignees enjoy their time in the UK and have access to the highest level of support. It can be a difficult time starting a new role, so we recognise that combining this with moving to another country is extremely stressful.

The support network exists to compliment the service provided by our Global Mobility team and involves our new inbound assignees buddying up with colleagues who have already experienced the process of moving to the UK and the complexities that come with it.

You will have an opportunity to meet your buddy on your first day.
