Life at Lidl

Ethical Trade Manager

Your pay and Benefits

At Lidl we are proud to pay fair and competitive salaries. We have an  internal commitment to pay no lower than the Real Living Wage as set out on an annual basis by The Real Living Wage Foundation.

We also recognise that a valued rewards package is so much more than just salary and have spent time putting in place benefits which are relevant and useful. We also understand that different people value different benefits which is why we offer a range of additional benefits which can be signed up to based on different interests.

Once you have joined Lidl, you will be given access to our benefits platform My Lidl Benefits - here you can view your existing benefits, select new ones and access a range of useful information and resources!

In the meantime, speak to your manager if you have any questions on your pay and benefits.

Diversity and Inclusion at Lidl

We want to ensure that we are continuously improving and being as inclusive an organisation as we can. We have spent time listening and learning from our colleagues, gaining valuable feedback on Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) at Lidl GB. Through listening to our colleagues lived experiences, we have developed a vision statement that will guide how we move forward to become a more inclusive company

Wellbeing at Lidl

At Lidl, your wellbeing is important to us and we understand that at times you might need further support or advice. That’s why all employees have access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provided by Care First. The EAP is a free and confidential information and counselling service, available to you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Accessing the EAP is simple:

Call for free on 0800 174 319 to speak to a counsellor or an information support specialist.

What the EAP can help you with:

There is no limit to what you can discuss with Carefirst and unlike many helplines, the EAP is not just here for life’s crises. Everyday issues such as the stresses of organising a wedding, moving house and even childcare can raise questions. Other topics can include managing money, relationships, family life, alcohol and drugs, legal advice and much more. So whether you'd like advice on a problem you're facing, or support with managing anxiety, you can rest assured that help is on hand for any in-the-moment support you may need.

Our national charity partnership with the NSPCC – making every child heard

Lidl NSPCC

We’re proud to have been partnered with the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) since 2017.

With your support, over the last five years Lidl has raised £5 million for the NSPCC including:

  • £3 million in the first three years, enabling the NSPCC to reach 1 million children as part of its ‘Speak out. Stay safe.’ programme. This vital initiative educates primary school pupils about different types of abuse and how to get help if or when they need it.
  • £2 million for the lifesaving Childline 24/7 service which provides a place for children to turn whatever difficulty they’re facing.

We’re delighted to have now extended our partnership with the NSPCC, aiming to raise a further £5m over the next three years. We will be continuing to support the NSPCC’s Childline service, with a particular focus on supporting children and young people with their mental health.

On average, a child contacts Childline every 25 seconds, with mental and emotional health the top concern raised by children and young people. By working together, we can make sure young people always have someone to talk to about their mental health.

The team at Lidl will be taking on a number of fundraising challenges throughout the year - look out for more info in our stores!
