Warehouse Equipment Project Manager

Our procurement department is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, and highly organised Procurement Project Manager to join their team. Working within the “Procurement Operational” team, you will deal with a range of strategic-level projects, Manage complex, large scale capex warehouse fit out projects and help develop new technologies such as automated storage systems.

Please note: this is a Project Manager position but your contractual job title would be “Consultant" in line with our internal role structures.

We have a hybrid working model for Head Office roles, ensuring you have a flexible work life balance.

What you'll do

  • Work on strategic projects with high level of autonomy and leadership as well as with high level of exposure to Board of Directors within Lidl GB
  • Autonomous project planning and management for implementation of national roll outs across all Lidl GB regional distribution centres
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers defining and implementing the category strategies, proactively managing risks and providing commercial leadership across Procurement related activities
  • Work with main business stakeholders to identify service optimisation and value improvement opportunities
  • Negotiating strategic cost savings and adding regularly value to the business
  • Budget planning for the categories of responsibility, understanding of cost categories and cost drivers, ability to extract and analyse complex sets of data
  • Lead and drive innovation
  • Ensuring adherence to best practice of Procurement processes and procedures across the business
  • Deal with a range of strategic-level projects involving key national and international stakeholders.
  • Manage complex, large scale capex warehouse fit out projects
  • Develop new technologies such as automated storage systems
  • Manage warehouse solution topics such as racking systems, conveyors systems and manual handing equipment

What you'll need

  • A self-motivated, passionate and proactive individual with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to drive projects, think outside the box and commit to a complex area
  • An excellent communicator, effective negotiator and confident presenter (able to present and propose projects/ideas to Board level employees)
  • Creative problem solving and analytical skills
  • Use insight to innovate and drive cost savings
  • Ability to create and manage a budget
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience managing warehouse solution topics such as racking systems, conveyors systems and manual handing equipment
  • Experience in managing complex, large scale capex warehouse fit out projects
  • Great Stakeholder Management
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of your time
  • Valid Drivers Licence
