Retail Placement Programme

As part of your application, you will also complete a video interview and face-to-face assessment centre. We look forward to receiving your application.

 

What you’ll do:

This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to experience a placement year like no other. It’s the chance to build your leadership skills and find the direction you want to take. As you rotate through a series of placements, time will fly and you’ll gain great exposure in the following areas.

Sales: You’ll start as a Customer Assistant and get know the basics of Lidl before taking on management responsibilities. You’ll gain a well-rounded view of how our stores operate while testing your leadership skills.

Logistics: This module will give you great insight into our warehouse operations. You'll learn how to select products for orders, manage deliveries and find out what it takes to manage a team of up to 200.

Head Office: You’ll spend two weeks with our Head Office team, working with one department to discover what life is like inside our UK HQ.

Supply Chain/Human Resources: You’ll join one of our office-based teams in these areas, depending on which path you choose. Working alongside talented colleagues, you’ll become familiar with a range of essential tasks and projects.

Regional Project: Your regional management team will give you the responsibility and autonomy to run your very own project. This will give you vital exposure to project management and you’ll have the chance to make a lasting impact on the business. (Past projects have improved our audits and customer service training)

What you’ll need:

  • To be studying for an undergraduate degree in any subject
  • To already have some work, volunteering or extra-curricular experience (ideally)
  • A full UK/EU driving licence by 1st March 2023
  • To live (or relocate) within a one-hour commute of your chosen location
  • To be legally entitled to work in the UK on a full-time basis for the duration of your placement

Our assessment centre’s take place in the regions with expected dates to be within the months January or February 2023.
