Logistics Systems Specialist (Business Solutions) - Full Time - Wimbledon

The Business Solutions department is responsible for the technical and functional operations of all systems within the application landscape and the identification, specification and design of solutions to meet business requirements.

The role of the Business Solutions Specialist is to run a small team tasked with providing the business with advice / solutions and assistance with technical, functional and process related matters associated with core Transport and Logistics Systems, bespoke business applications and custom solutions.

  • Actively engage and consult with functional departments to ensure that system capabilities are utilised and required functional enhancements
  • Identify and capture business processes that can be improved through existing or new solutions and create solution proposals
  • Create specifications for system changes and coordinate with internal development, International IT or external solutions providers on their implementation
  • Ensure that those using the solutions provided have the necessary skill levels
  • Participate in and run projects at both a national and international level
  • Applying, integrating and complying with International standards
  • Actively participates in proactive investigations and discussions with functional departments relating to Master Data Management
  • Manage the ongoing change, release and test management of systems and processes together with functional departments
  • Optimisation of business processes through use of appropriate technical solutions
  • Management and support of assigned resources

  • Project Management experience
  • Proven experience in Transport & Logistics Solutions
  • Previous experience of managing individuals / small teams
  • Ability to analyse problems and produce, source or specify solutions
  • Knowledge of SAP EWM / Manhattan or equivalent would be desirable
  • Knowledge of Automated Warehousing Solutions would be desirable
  • Practical working knowledge of ITIL v2 or higher would be desirable
  • Windows Server or Linux server operating systems would be desirable
  • Good working knowledge of Oracle 10 or above or equivalent database solutions would be desirable
  • German language skills would be desirable

  • £40,000 - £52,000 (subject to experience)
  • 10% London Weighting (non-contractual) for employees working within the M25
