Customs Coordinator - Classification - Full Time - Wimbledon, South West London

We are looking for a confident and motivated Customs Coordinator to join the Classification function within our Customs team. This team is responsible for classifying products against the customs tariff and explanatory notes, identifying and recording relevant preferential trade agreements and performing post-clearance amendments. The role requires knowledge of classifying food and non-food products and a meticulous eye for detail. There will also be an extensive training period when you join the team where you'll spend time with different areas of the business to understand how systems, documents and processes support your work and in turn, the effect your role has on the wider business.

  • Collecting detailed information from various sources to enable your classification
  • Perform the classification and record the basis for your classification decision
  • Work with colleagues to review the accuracy of all classifications for our products
  • Investigate the trade agreements relating to the products and support the buying teams to determine whether the products meet the qualifying requirements
  • Performing post-clearance amendments to declarations where classification or other errors have resulted in incorrect declarations

  • Knowledge of applying the General Rules of Interpretation (GIR)
  • Experience working with the Customs Integrated Tariff and Explanatory Notes
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to use their own initiative
  • Highly focused and accurate with an uncompromising eye for detail
  • Hands-on approach and can-do attitude
  • Ability to accommodate last minute requests with ease and efficiency
  • Confident using Microsoft Office packages

  • Earn from £22,330 up to £36,000 dependent on experience
  • An additional 10% of your annual salary as a non-contractual London weighting benefit
