I am having difficulty applying or have forgotten my password. What should I do?
If you have forgotten your username or password, please follow the link to reset your username and/or password: https://jobs.lidl.com/relogin/gb
Please ensure you follow the 'Forgot your password?' link without completing any other fields. You will soon be prompted to enter your email address you initially registered with. Once you have done so your user name and new password emailed to you.
Should you experience difficulty, please ensure the following:
1. That you are not attempting to attach documents using a Smart Phone or tablet. In order to attach your CV and Covering Letter, you will be required to submit your application using a laptop or PC.
2. That your pop-up blocker is turned off and your are using an up to date version of Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer. Wherever possible, please always use Mozilla Firefox and avoid using Safari.
3. That the following file types are being used for your documents: PDF, DOC, DOCX, GIF, JPG, JPEG, TIF, XLS, XLSX, ODT with a maximum size of 4mb. Some candidates experience issues uploading their documents due to the file type used, especially with Mac users.

How long will it take to find out if I have been successful?
Once you have applied you will receive an email from us within one week letting you know that we have received your application and will review it shortly. You should hear from us within 28 days of your initial application to find out if you have been shortlisted for a first stage interview. Often you will hear much sooner than 28 days, but during particularly busy periods it can take a while.
We will contact you by email throughout the recruitment process. We may, however, call you if we need any additional information or to schedule an interview. Should your email address or contact number change, please let us know.
Do you carry out any reference checks?
Yes we do. Please note your employment is conditional upon the company's receipt of satisfactory references and if requested by the company, a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check.
How many hours do your part time vacancies cover?
Part time hours can range from 11 to 34 hours per week, depending on the requirements of store. This can be discussed further should you be invited to interview. It's a good idea to specify the hours you wish to work on your cover letter when applying.
Can I apply for more than one job?
Yes, you can apply for multiple jobs if you feel they are suited to your skills, experience and aspirations. Please note however that our company policy is to not accept multiple applications for the same role within a six months period.
Can you keep my CV on file for future opportunities?
Due to the high volume of applications we receive we cannot notify individual candidates of future opportunities. Our best advice would be to continue visiting the careers section of our website as this is updated regularly with new opportunities.
If my application is unsuccessful can I reapply?
If you have been unsuccessful please allow 6 months before applying for the same role again.
You are of course welcome to apply for other opportunities at any time. Please note that applying as an Area Manager for a different region does not count as a separate role.
I’ve seen a job advert in a store, online or in a newspaper, but I can’t find it on your website. What can I do?
It’s possible that the advert went out before the vacancy was live on our website, or that we took the advert down early as we received an overwhelming response. Check the website again in a couple of days. If the advert still doesn’t appear, the vacancy may no longer be available.
I am a graduate who has acheived a 2:2 but a 2:1 is required. Should I still apply for a graduate scheme?
We are happy to accept applications from candidates who have not exactly met the 2.1 qualification if they have also attained a higher level qualification (such as a Post Graduate or Masters qualification)
What is London Weighting?
London weighting is a non-contractual benefit that the company pays to Lidl employees working within the M25 to help with the cost of living in Greater London, which is generally higher than the rest of the UK. The benefit currently stands at 10% of employee net income and is paid on top of the contractual salary. (London weighting is therefore subject to income tax and national insurance deductions.)
I am looking for a work experience placement/short-term seasonal position. Is this possible at Lidl?
We are unfortunately only currently recruiting for permanent roles at present. Our best advice is to continue visiting our website for updates on this as some regions may offer fixed term contracts when required.
We also appreciate the value of work placements for both you and our business, however due to our organisational structure and limited staffing approach, we are not able to dedicate the time and attention required to give you the well-rounded and enriching experience we would like to.
If you’re looking for a work placement because you wish to work in retail in the future, you are welcome to apply for a permanent role with us. Some of our roles do not require any previous experience, provided you have the right attitude.
I’m under 18. Can I still get a job at Lidl?
As our stores sell alcohol we are unable to have individuals under 18 operating our tills. In some of our larger stores however we are able to hire younger individuals to work in other areas.
If you are under 18 and wish to be considered for a store position, please feel free to contact our recruitment team with the full details of the store you are interested in. We will then enquire with the store on your behalf.
Can Lidl sponsor my UK working visa?
Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor work visas.
I plan to move to the UK soon. Can I apply from overseas for vacancies at Lidl UK?
Yes, you can apply from overseas. Please ensure that you provide your correct email address, contact number (including country code) and full postal address so that we can contact you about your application. Please also ensure that you make your intention to move to the UK clear in your application. If you already know the date you’ll arrive and when you’ll be available to start, please include this too.
Once you have arrived in the UK, please notify us so that we can update your contact details.
