At Lidl, we are challenged to reach our potential. And that is certainly true about being an Area Manager with us. You have a lot of responsibility, with 4 to 6 stores that rely on your direction, strategy and leadership. And you will be a visible leader, visiting your stores regularly, motivating the store teams and getting stuck in. A Lidl Area Manager is the type of person that will turn up at the store ready to work alongside the Store Manager, showing them how to lead and do their tasks.
To do that, you’ll need to know our business inside out – and we’ll make sure you do. Regardless of your experience, you’ll join us as a Trainee Area Manager and go through a thorough training programme for up to 9 months. This will include putting on a uniform and working as a Customer Assistant, then a Deputy Store Manager and Store Manager before you start your Area Manager training. That way you’ll be a credible leader to every member of your team, knowing their role and your role inside out. We’re hands on at Lidl – and we’re very proud of it.
