The application process for 2020/21 is now closed.
Driven? Keen to learn? Full of potential? Great news! Our award-winning Retail Placement Programme is perfect for giving you a 360-degree view of our business operations both regionally and at head office. So you’ll get great insight into sales and logistics, as well as either supply chain, property or administration. You’ll develop fantastic knowledge of the business – but you’ll also learn more about yourself and your abilities. Developing leadership, management, decision making and communication skills, you’ll set yourself up with a brilliant future in retail.
Through a proven rotational structure, our placement will give you the best exposure to a variety of areas, described below.
Starting as a Customer Assistant you'll understand the basics of Lidl and slowly take on some management responsibilities, giving you a well-rounded view of how our stores operate.
This module will give you a great insight into our warehousing operations. You'll learn how to select products for orders, manage deliveries and gain exposure into managing a team of up to 200!
Supply Chain / Administration / Property
Here you'll gain experience in an office based environment. Not only will you learn what type of work place you enjoy, you will also get to work within one of these teams on a range of different projects and tasks. A great chance to experience another facet to our business!
This week is intense. But very rewarding. Your regional management team will give you the responsibility and autonomy to run your very own project, often of choice, giving you exposure to project management whilst these results are often used to help improve the business. Audits, customer service training and property negotiations have been some previous projects placement students have ran.
Head Office Experience
2 weeks. Fully expensed. London experience. What's not to like?! Here you will spend 2 weeks in our Wimbledon head office, working within 1 or 2 departments to help you see what life is like inside our UK HQ.
Overall your development will be intense but absolutely incredible! You will experience a placement year like no other company offers and gain a good grasp of leadership and the route you'd like to take your graduate career in!
