Lidl UK becomes the first British Supermarket to introduce the living wage
We are proud to announce that from the 1st October 2015 we will adopt the Living Wage, as part of our ongoing commitment to investing in our employees following a record year with sales reaching over £4billion.
With this introduction we will be the first British Supermarket and this will mean that all Lidl UK employees receive a minimum of £8.25 per hour across England, Scotland and Wales, and £9.40 per hour in London.
We know which direction we are going in, join us and you will too!
With the launch of our in-store bakeries, and growing product range, including our very own award winning “Deluxe” brand we have seen a massive increase in both our sales and customer turnover throughout the UK.
Over the next three years we are investing over £1.5bn in refurbishing up to 150 existing sites to our 'store of the future' concept. After having opened 20 in 2014 we now aim for 40-50 stores a year. Meaning a further 6,500 in-store opportunities per year for people across the UK.» We know which direction we are going in, join us and you will too!
